Art Happens

February 19, 2017

I am currently without a studio space, which has left me feeling very frustrated. I love to immerse myself in materials and that is hard to do if the only space you have to work is your dining room table, a space that doubles as my spouse's office. On the positive side the limits put on me by not having a studio have forced me to focus on drawing. Everything has the potential to be art. One of my favorite paintings is Diebenkorn's painting of a ripe tomato and a knife. And so with that in mind I just drew what was in front of me: An empty cardboard egg carton holding a pair of reading glasses and my car keys sitting on the table.
