It is hard to capture the disgust and sadness I have felt about the genocide in Gaza. The total disregard for life and nature and the planet makes me sick. And now there is new information coming out about how Hamas was willing to return all civilian hostages the next day. Oh the lies and justification for this nightmare and the way Judaism has been used to justify all of it. There has been racism and horror inflicted on the Palestinian people for decades. We were told lies about it being a necessary evil to keep the Jewish people safe. Often when peace in the Middle East was discussed at least one person would say, “It’s Complicated.” The older I get the more I believe that “complicated” is a word people use when they really don’t want to do something that might inconvenience them. It is the word people use about cars and urban development and climate change. It is the word that is used when talking about childcare or maternal health or poverty. It is the word that is used when ever somebody wants to shut down the discussion and make it seem like solutions are not possible.
I am tired of people saying it is complicated.
